Our simplified New England protocol would be to initially call on 1 or 2 and lastly 3. Use a LiTZ (Long Tone Zero) on your DTMF pad :
1. NEDECN SKYWARN/Emergency Talk Group 759
2. NEDECN Statewide Talk Group 31xx
3. 146.520 FM Simplex
On the Hour to conserve battery. Once communication is established, STAY ON THAT CHANNEL! LOCK IT.
