Is there a reason why NEDECN doesn’t offer the member repeaters full info in .CSV format? If its too burdensome for someone to do – why not ask each repeater owner to send in their repeater’s full information in a standardized .CSV format instead? I suggest that both the TX & RX frequencies and the offset value & direction be included to minimize errors in simple calculations when a CPS apps asks for one not provided on the site (I’ve been guilty of some of these offset calculation errors myself).

It seems to me that this would make it much easier for hams to create a codeplug with minimal errors. Currently, all of this this info appears on this site; albeit in free form text that include dashes, equal symbols, astrisks, etc. There is no real format – at least one that can be readily imported without extensive editing. This could be mitigated by creating two spreadsheets with headers for each repeater owner to populate. One with cloumns for the repeater’s specific data (Digital ID, RX, TX, CC, etc.) and the second with columns for each’s TG’s group data (TG ID, TG Name, TS, Comments, etc.). A spreadsheet and resulting .CSV file with these proper headings along with data in the right place would make editing -so- much easier – likely resulting in more radios programmed to transmit on more repeaters. Broken codeplugs due to free text and other info would be eliminated.

Posting this information for download or even copy / paste for each NEDECN member repeater on the repeater info page here would be a huge help to more hams that arent’ quite computer savvy and reluctant to get into DMR.
